Welcome everyone to "The Prim Patch"

I have always loved the look of Prim. The last several years I've tried whatever Prim crafting projects I could find. I love workin' with wood, sewing, stitchery, really any crafts...I could work on projects all day everyday!! (If life were that easy...LOL)
I'm hoping to be able to share anything and everything Prim I can do/find with everyone.
Be sure to follow my blog to see what we can create together.

I have a few things on my blog for Sale...you can check them out here.

Silicone bulbs…

I finally decided to try my hand at makin’ my own silicone bulbs yesterday. My first batch are jus’ plain clear silicone. I’m gonna make the colored, grubby ones next time.

Here’s the tut I used from Char…click HERE if you’d like to try it too. Thanks so much Char!!!

Here’s how I had them hanging to dry…it does take awhile for them to dry all the way.

Here’s a close up of one of the bulbs.

I think they turned out pretty good for my first time. I can’t wait to make the Grubby lookin’ ones like Char made.

  3. They're a lil tricky Rhonda...not as easy as I thought they would be...and the fumes are out of this world...WOW!! I was gaging the entire time...LOL

  4. they turned out really pretty - I too want to know if you decide to sell some :)

  5. Thanks Robyn!
I think I'll have to make a few more batches to get them lookin' sellin' worthy. I'm hoping the colored...grubby ones turn out even better. I'll post pic once I make those too. Hopefully I can make 'em today.

  8. They do look good!
I won a set of Char's mini grubby sented lights. I love them. I also want to make some.
    Thanks for sharing with us.
    Enjoy your day.

  9. Good job! I've thought about trying them but not sure that I can do it! Yours turned out great!

  10. Ah dang girl! Another thing to add to my project list. That silicone stuff is pretty nasty to work with. Smelly and nasty. But it looks like it would be worth it. =]

I think you did an awesome job!

To go along with my comment on your last post... I wonder if it matters what color the bulb is? At Hobby Lobby, we always have so many C9 bulbs left over after Christmas. They are for the bigger outside light sets. They come 4 to a pack and there are always some still left over at 90% off. I don't know if that size will be too big though. We usually have the smaller C7 (night light size) left over also but they are usually gone by the time it reaches 90% off. Just something to keep in the back of your mind. Thanks so much for sharing your progress!

  11. Dar ..they look great GF!!!I'm going to have to try to make some more here soon.

  12. I have been wanting to try that myself. Costs way too much to keep buying them already made with all of the candles I have to light. LOL

They came out nice, great job!

  13. Hi Darla: Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your silicone bulbs...which post is the tutorial in over at Char's? I can't find it... thanks

  14. Patti...here's the tut from Char that I used. I didn't add any paint to these...didn't have any to add...but I'm gonna try them with paint....hopefully over the weekend.
