Welcome everyone to "The Prim Patch"

I have always loved the look of Prim. The last several years I've tried whatever Prim crafting projects I could find. I love workin' with wood, sewing, stitchery, really any crafts...I could work on projects all day everyday!! (If life were that easy...LOL)
I'm hoping to be able to share anything and everything Prim I can do/find with everyone.
Be sure to follow my blog to see what we can create together.

I have a few things on my blog for Sale...you can check them out here.

GW finds & a few New finds too...

Hello everyone!!!
Jus' wanted to post a few things I found at the GW.
This is my cute basket...(I'm a basket gal) I also found a bag full of these skinny long candles and the sconces.
Naturally, I need to add my Prim touch to them all.

Ok....now this is my problem with our local GW.
You see this picture...UGLY!!!

and look how beat up the entire frame is....

Now check out the price!!!
That's right...12.00 for this UGLY, BEAT UP picture!!!
What are they thinking?!?!?!
Now...you know I didn't pay 12.00 for this....I paid 1.00 because of the special they had that day.
But....these are the prices they have at our local GW....everything is so high priced...you can't really afford to go there.
I'm telling you....I get so mad every time I go there!!! By the time I leave...I could spit fire I'm so mad....LOL

Now on to my goodies I found.

I found the faux stitchery on sale for 70% off!!! YAY!!!
I love the wooden spool with the old looking tape measure on it. Was nicely priced too.
I must say....my sis and I found even more material yesterday...didn't take a pic of it. The flower material here I'm gonna us on a box...I've never added material to boxes...but I sure do love how they look....my sis and I are gonna try makin' some. Will post pics when we finish them.

That's it for today.
Hoping to get with Cyndy and do some crafting....always nice to have someone to craft with...esp. when it's your sis.

Have a wonderful day!!!

  3. LOL....we used to have THAT picture, someone bought it as a wedding gift for us 23 yrs. ago and Yes it is ugly, lol! Our GW prices here aren't too bad, but I stopped in a GW in a bigger town yesterday and holy cow, their prices were HIGH, don't quite know what they're thinkin'! I love your other goodies and in response to your question on my bun candles, they are hand rolled after cutting the wax into strips, I have alot of fun doing them by hand that way and each one has it's own personality:)

  5. Wow Dar your Goodwill needs to regroup !!!! And I thought ours was high on some of their stuff ! One thing I HATE that ours does is mark on the item with permanent black marker grrrrrrrr......Love that stitchery !!! And I've always wanted to do the fabric covered boxes myself too. Hope your week is off to a GREAT start !

  6. What great finds! I have loved our Goodwill but with management changes the prices are out of balance. I have seen several things marked as high or higher than when they were new. I do love a sweet deal. You have a good eye for your items!
    Hugs, Dawn :)

  7. I would love to find some long, skinny candles like those.. they would be so much fun to grunge up.

Wow! I can't believe they had $12 on that picture! No one would have paid that price for that. Our GW's are kinda high, but not that high.

The old tape measure on the wooden spool is a neat idea! I have old sewing notions in my main half-bath and that would look great in there! I will definitely be on the lookout for an old tape measure. If I can't find one, I might have to grungy one up. Haha! Love that sampler and all your goodies!

I hope you don't mind, but I borrowed an idea from your blog and posted about it today on my blog. I did give you the credit so I hope it's okay! Hmm... guess I should have asked first. If not, let me know and I'll take it down!

Have a great week girl, and have fun crafting with your sis!

  8. Hi Angie!!!
Our local GW is always over priced....we live in a small town too...nothing fancy either.
The Wooden Spool with the tape measure on it, I was able to purchase it....for only 6.99 too...thought that was a good price. Would love to see one that you make...plaes let me know if you do.
You are more than welcome to borrow any/every idea I post....that's the reason for my blog....share, learn, and hopefully inspire. No need to ever ask...you don't even have to give me credit....although I sure do appreciate that you did.
Heading over to your blog to check it out....
    Have a wonderful day!!

  9. Some great finds there!

I agree about the prices at Goodwill lately. They used to be much more reasonable. I guess with the economy and such they are taking full advantage of more people shopping there. It's getting harder and harder these days to even find a parking spot at some of the Goodwill stores around here.
