I was messing with my camera and laptop…and was able to get a few pictures off the camera.

Here’s my stitchery and Teddy I made. Pattern for the teddy is from Tennessee Ridge Primitives if you haven’t stopped by her site…you will want to as soon as possible. She is having another awesome sale right now….10 patterns for $10. Someday I will own her “I want it all” CD. (Hear that Honey!…Hint…Hint!)

I can’t remember where I found the ABC stitchery pattern…I’m so sorry! If someone knows where/who made the pattern…Please let me know so I can give proper credit.

Here’s another simple stitchery I made. I have it hanging on one of my many, many baskets…(I am a basket girl!) The basket is sitting under my Old barn wood coffee table the hubs made for me a while ago. Once I get a nice setting on the table I will take pictures and share the Coffee table and End tables he made….they are one of my favorite things he made.

Here’s another stitchery…I have it hanging over the rods of an old chair. As you can see I’ve been making lots of them…I have lots of extra stitcheries made that I need to add to more prim towels. I love doing the stitcheries when I jus’ sitting and watch TV.

This I revamped. I changed the towel out for the nice stitchery pattern that once again…I have no name for who made the pattern. When I first started collecting free patterns I didn’t do so well with saving the names of the creator. I had no idea I would be posting pictures of my finished work to a blog…and didn’t think I would need to know the creator. So…once again…if anyone knows who created this wonderful pattern…could ya Please give me the name so I can give proper credit. BTW…I have since changed my ways.

That’s all for now…I do have lots more to share…but I really need to get my butt moving. I have new Prim Doll patterns I ordered from You Are So Special Patterns another awesome site to get wonderful Prim Patterns. You should definitely check her site out too…she is running a special on her patterns too.

It's been too long....

Hello everyone!
It's been so long since I've posted...I've been busy with everyday life and busy with my Prims. Now that things have calmed down...I'll be posting once again.

My digital camera and laptop are not working together right now...I dunno why. So until I get them to be "friends" again...I'll not be able to post any pictures....Not good! Hoping the hubs and I can get it figured out soon.

I would like everyone to know...that even though I've not posted...I still come to my blog daily and read everyone's updates.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas...we sure did.

Morning everyone!!

Sorry it’s been awhile since I’ve posted. Life has kept me pretty busy.

Anyway…I wanted to share a few things I’ve been doing.

Here are some Hanging Rusty Wire Elec. Candles I’ve been makin’ and puttin’ everywhere in my house…inside and outside…LOL

These are the electric candle lights you can get at the dollar tree.

These two are in the house…

This one is outside on my back porch…looks awesome at night.

They are so easy to make…and perfect for placing really anywhere.

Here’s a few things the hubs helped me make.

Jus’ a simple piece of old barn wood with a rusty wire and star added….fits perfect here.

Ok…I don’t have this all the way decorated. I have this hanging in my Living room…it’s the room I’m workin’ on…I pretty much have nothing decorated in this room right now. Plus, I’m not real happy with the way this pic is…it looks as though the shelf is tiny…trust me…it’s not…it measures a little over 3 foot long and 1 1/2 foot wide…it really does fit perfect. Plus, I think the hubs did an awesome job…now I jus’ need to get the right Prim goodies on it.

Here’s the Candle holder that I have hanging on the side of the old barn wood shelf….hubs made it too.

Here’s a few things I picked up yesterday…

I started to paint my basket…then stopped so I could get a before…then ran out of paint…gonna make a run to Wally World for paint…gotta finish my basket today.

Here’s a cute lil rockin’ chair. I’m not likin’ the blue….not sure what I’m gonna do with the blue…any ideas??

Yes…there’s more….LOL

Here’s a long book shelf I bought at a YS….forgot to get a before…but it was jus’ plain wood….nothing fancy. Again…I don’t have much on this shelf either…it’s another piece that’s in my Living room…waiting to be decorated…LOL

The doors on the bottom open…I have some of my favorite books stored in there…

I’ve saved my favorite for last…

The hubs bought this desk for me from our local GW. I did have a nice solid oak old desk…in mint condition…but I changed my desktop computer to a laptop several months ago…and my old desk jus’ wasn’t big enough anymore. So the hubs surprised me with this desk…I didn’t get a before pic…but if you can imagine a Pinkish-Red color…well that’s jus’ what this desk looked like….Not Pretty!! Although, it’s a really nice solid oak desk….the drawers are dove tailed…very nicely made. Please pay no attention to my computer cords…those buggers are so hard to hide…LOL

Much more room for me with my new laptop…

Hello everyone!

I wanted to share a pic. of the wonderful gifts Sheila from Seasons of Thy Heart sent to me.

First off…I could smell the Sweet Annie before I even opened the box…Pure Heaven!!

She sent me so many things…I’m still trying to find homes for them all…(I keep moving them…LOL).

She made me a wonderful floral filled crow can…it’s jus’ beautiful...Prim Perfect!! She also sent me a punched tin candle holder…a bag of prim potpourri…with small material sunflowers…and a round prim box with a larger sunflower on it. A prim house pic with one of my favorite sayings….'”As for me and my house…we will serve the Lord”…then a little tiny bowl with a house painted on it and a tiny stand to hold the bowl…too cute!! And…a punched tin nightlight…my daughter had jus’ asked me to add another light to our stairway…looks perfect!

She also sent me a Jar of Jalapeño jelly…my daughter and I have already tested the jelly…YUMMY!!! She made me a small firecracker pin…it is too cute! And a rolling pin to add to my small collection..LOL

Last…but not least…she knew I was a G-ma…so she made me the most wonderful stitchery…it says…

“Grandmas have pictures in their wallets where money used to be”

I love it!!

Donna's Challenge...

Hi everyone!!

I know I'm posting my challenge item early...but I have an appointment early in the morn. So, I thought I'd jus' post my challenge item tonight.

Most of what I did came from ideas my wonderful friend Donna gave me awhile back. Donna always has awesome creative ideas....she told me how to achieve the old/rustic look. Thanks so much Donna...your ideas are always awesome...and Oh so Prim! PS....GEESH...I sure do MISS YA MY FRIEND!

Anyway...I decided to add one of my stitcheries to my can...and the hub's put holes in the can so I could add the rusty wire.

Actually, I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out...you know us Prim Gals...most of the time we're not very happy with what we've made...LOL But, I must admit, I'm very Pleased with this lil guy...didn't take long to make either.

Thanks so much Donna for havin' this challenge! I would have never made this if you wouldn't have had your challenge for all of us.

I'm lookin' forward to seein' every one's creativity....(I sure hope I don't miss any)

Silicone bulbs…

I finally decided to try my hand at makin’ my own silicone bulbs yesterday. My first batch are jus’ plain clear silicone. I’m gonna make the colored, grubby ones next time.

Here’s how I had them hanging to dry…it does take awhile for them to dry all the way.

Here’s a close up of one of the bulbs.

I think they turned out pretty good for my first time. I can’t wait to make the Grubby lookin’ ones like Char made.

Messin’ with candles…

Here’s jus’ a few candles I’ve been I’ve been makin’. I jus’ wanted to see if I could make some smaller “Nubbie” candles.

I started out with these long red tapered candles. I cut them apart to give me a few different sizes….being careful to not cut the wick. I then dipped them a few times in my wax…and rolled them in some cinnamon. Thanks to the help of my Dear Prim friend Donna.

I needed to replace the candles in my candle holder my sis got for me awhile back. I’m not real thrilled with the red candles that came with it.

I like the smaller “Nubbie” candles much better.

I need to hit GW to get more candles and keep tryin’ to perfect them...I’m still lookin’ to try to make them even smaller…like the actually “Nubbie'” candles you can buy. Over all, for my first time…I was pretty happy with the way they turned out.

More Stitcheries....

Morning everyone!!

I jus' wanted to share a few more of my stitcheries that I've made....Plus, some that I'm workin' on.

Here's the lil sheep one I posted last time....it's finally finished.

Here's jus' a small one I made awhile back...jus' finished it yesterday. Kinda plain...but sometimes I like jus' having something "Simple".

Here's what I'm workin' on...actually, I was able to finish this last night.
I made 2 of these....they will go on my end tables in my family room.

Here's some of my up coming stitcheries.
The one on the top will be framed...and the 2 on the bottom will be made into tags.

As you can see...I'm into stitchery right now....I love how they turn out...and esp. love the ones made into tags....they are so nice to hang really anywhere in your home.

Stitchery I've been workin' on...

This first pic is a stitchery I made to lay on my basket in my MBath....it was lookin' too plain to me...so, I thought I'd add this stitchery to it.

Not real thrilled with this one....but it'll work for now.

This is my Favorite...Love it!!!

I think it turned out Great....love the saying too.

I'll for sure be makin' more of these type of tags.

Morning Everyone!!!

I jus' wanted to show everyone the Gifts that were in my Mystery Give-away.

The Great thing about having a Mystery Give-away...once I drew Angie's name...I was able to go to her blog and see the things that she likes...I was able to send her things that worked for her...and I wasn't committed to sending her something that she didn't need.

I really, really enjoyed doing my Mystery Give-away. I will be doing lots more of these!!!

Master bath make-over

Morning everyone!!!

Jus' wanted to share a few pics of our mater bath. I've been workin' on a make-over in this room.

Sorry I didn't get all of the before pic...the only thing I had before...was the wall decorated...(decorated differently).

Oh...jus' wanted to tell ya too...when we moved into our home about 7 years ago...this bathroom had white walls...with a tiny white and green vine boarder at the top of the walls...the floors where white with green squares...and the cupboards where really dark unmatched wood stain....UGLY!!

About 3 years ago...Hubs and I antiqued the cupboards....painted the walls green added the boarder...and added the bead board and antiqued it to match the cupboards. Hubs and bro-in-law laid our new wood floor.

Onto the current make-over...

Here's a before pic of the chair I had in my bedroom at my vanity. Once I added it to my bathroom...it was too much green. My walls are green in the master bath...so I felt that it needed to be another color to try to pop the colors in my boarder.

Here's another pic of the chair painted black..sanded and antiqued with my fav. shoe polish...my pillow wasn't all the way done yet...and I hadn't changed the material on the seat. The main reason for this pic is to show you why I can't add too much to the chair.

My girl Izzie has decided this is a new bed for her...LOL

Here's the chair finished....pillow done, new material on the seat...and my new kitter kat I made.

Here's a close up of the Early style cupboard that the hubs and I made a few weeks back. Thanks to Evelyn and her hubs over at Lee Hill Primitives for the wonderful tutorial they posted. You can find their tutorial here.
I'm not able to have the door open...as I store our towels and washrags in here.

I'm not real thrilled with the lighting in the pic...but you get the idea.

Loving the new look....all that I have left to do is...find a new shower curtain...and I have one small wall to re-decorate.

Sorry I don't have anything in a display...I'm saving them to add to my Living room that I'm in the process of re-decorating.

Watcha Workin' on Wednesday...

Sorry I'm late...I crashed last night before I could post my pics.

I still wanted to post 'em though.

Here are a few things my sis and her hubs made for me...I needed to sand and distress them....was only able to get them sanded. Will finish them today.

Here's my pile of stuff I worked on yesterday too....I was able to get everything done...but for the sconces.

Here's the sconces....I wasn't thrilled with the pointy tip....so I decided to sand it off. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to use them as sconces. I'm gonna finish workin' on these today too. I'll show ya my idea later...hopefully it'll work for me...LOL

Here's the cutting board I was able to get done....no display for it as of yet.

Well...I really do like them...but once I stained them....they looked like I had used the same material on both of them. I have each box sitting on the material I used. I thought I had enough of a contrast....but as you can see....it wasn't.
But...that's ok...I love 'em...they turned out to be really easy to do too. I'll jus' have to separate them.

I'll try to get some display pics posted of the things I've re-done.

GW finds & a few New finds too...

Hello everyone!!!

Jus' wanted to post a few things I found at the GW.

This is my cute basket...(I'm a basket gal) I also found a bag full of these skinny long candles and the sconces.

Naturally, I need to add my Prim touch to them all.

Ok....now this is my problem with our local GW.

You see this picture...UGLY!!!

and look how beat up the entire frame is....

Now check out the price!!!
That's right...12.00 for this UGLY, BEAT UP picture!!!
What are they thinking?!?!?!
Now...you know I didn't pay 12.00 for this....I paid 1.00 because of the special they had that day.
But....these are the prices they have at our local GW....everything is so high priced...you can't really afford to go there.
I'm telling you....I get so mad every time I go there!!! By the time I leave...I could spit fire I'm so mad....LOL

Now on to my goodies I found.

I found the faux stitchery on sale for 70% off!!! YAY!!!
I love the wooden spool with the old looking tape measure on it. Was nicely priced too.
I must say....my sis and I found even more material yesterday...didn't take a pic of it. The flower material here I'm gonna us on a box...I've never added material to boxes...but I sure do love how they look....my sis and I are gonna try makin' some. Will post pics when we finish them.

Watcha Workin' on Wednesday...

Jus' wanted to show ya what I've been workin' on.

If you read my earlier post...you'll remember I was workin' on my Kitchen windows/lights.

Here's the before in case you've forgotten...

I finally was able to get my curtains finished. Keep in mind...I have NEVER made curtains before...and I didn't have a pattern. But, I think the curtains and lamp shades turned out Great...and have made a huge difference.

Love 'em!!

I made the curtains out of Osnaburg material. I'm not sure if I should leave them this color or if I should coffee/tea stain them.
Any suggestions??

Watcha Workin' on Wednesday...

Hello Everyone!!!

It's been awhile since I've posted...but I sure have been workin' on things.

Here's one of the things I'm workin' on now. It's not all the way done...kinda wanted to give ya a sneak peak.

Anyway...I found these 2 shades at the GW for 2.00 each....I've been lookin' for something to change the way my lights above my sink in my kitchen look. I couldn't believe I found 2 of the same. That never happens for me.

Plus, they are the perfect size for my lights

Here's a before look of my windows and lights. Sorry the pic. is so dark...but you get the idea. If you look real close...you can see my UGLY lights under my curtains. Curtains are going too.

Here's the finished shade. I used my Plaid FolkArt Oak stain. I used it as though it was paint. I painted 2 coats of the stain...letting it dry in between coats. Then I made a template to trace my star on to the shade...painted that with the Plaid Apple Barrel Barn Red paint.

Here's a Better pic...(took it at night). I still need to finish my curtains. Hoping to get those done tonight.

I'll post more pics once I get the curtains done too.

This is my version of a Grubby, Rusty wire candle.
This candle is for decoration only...Please Do Not burn this candle.

I made this Heart with the Crow and Star from a Free pattern.
I have it linked in my Free Pattern box on the right side of my blog if you'd like to try it for yourself.
Again....it is coffee/tea stained....the flash is too bright for you to see.

Then here is jus' a cute 'lil star pillow that is coffee/tea stained too.

Here is a small feed sack that I made.

This is a wooden bowl that I painted black, then painted with my favorite mustard color...sanded and then rubbed with brown shoe polish.

Lastly, you will receive 3 tarts I purchased from a local craft store.
They are my very favorite sent. Maple and Brown Sugar....YUMMY!!!

My home made things...

Hello everyone!!
First off...I want to Thank everyone for their wonderful comments about the return of my Izzie girl!! She's been home for 2 1/2 weeks now....she's doing awesome....she is back into her normal routine. I was afraid that her personality would change since she was gone for 7 weeks...Thankfully it hasn't. I am Thankful to the Dear Lord every day that he gave her back to us.

Ok....on with my post...

So sorry for the lack of posting...hopefully the pics I post today will make up for it.

These are a few pics of things I made for myself and for my sis. Our golden rule is...if you make one for yourself....you have to make another for the sis...LOL

This is my Prairie Dress Towel...the pic doesn't really show how grubby it is. My sis Kim helped me make this. She is a much better sewer than I am.
I keep moving it...I've not found the right place for it yet. Right now it's hanging on a 4 shelf stand my hubby made for me a few years ago out of old barn wood. I'm not liking it there.

These are my versions of game boards.
I really had a lot of fun making these. They were so easy to make.

This is my Old Glory bag...I saw a pic of this somewhere...loved how different it was. So I decided to make it. This too was so, so easy to make.

These are my version of Grubby pillows.
I only made one set....so, per the golden rule...I had to give it to my sis. I really need to make some for myself...LOL

Another project that I only made one....again, gave it to my sis.
Out of all the things I made...this was the hardest. That star was hard to sew and stuff....too small....I fussed and fussed with this thing...LOL But in the end it was worth it.

That's it for now....I do have other things I've been workin' on....re-do's, new projects, changing things around in my house....etc. I'll be posting more pic today...Be sure to check back!!

7 weeks ago our Beloved Izzie got out of our home...she is strictly an indoor cat.
Well to make a very long story short....after lookin', posting, phone calls....and anything else you can think of....and lots and lots of tears.

Our Beloved Izzie was found and brought home tonight!!!

I can not begin to tell everyone how happy I am to have her home safe and sound. She will need to go to the vet tomorrow...she is thin....and her hair is matted up. But that isn't anything we can't fix. Thankfully!!!

Jus' wanted to share my joy with everyone else!!!

Thrifty Thursday...

Sorry I've not posted in awhile, I've been busy makin' some Prim gifts for my sis. I have several new things...(new to me that is)...that I've made. I'll be posting pic of them once Christmas is over.
I've been busy fillin' my sewing room with GW, TS and Antique Store purchases that I will be workin' on after Christmas and posting for everyone to see.

Here's a few things I was able to make-over.
This is kinda my version of a "NoodleBoard". It's not really practical for us to have a Noddleboard on our stove...so I've placed mine on our bar in the kitchen.

Here's the before of some of the GW items I was able to purchase a few weeks ago.

I've had this piece of wood for a few years...I've hung on to it cuz I've always like it so much.
I was able to get it from my nieces farm. I think at one time it was a lid to something. I'm gonna have to ask her what it was used for. Anyway, I've always liked it....but never knew what to do with it. This is what I'm using as the top.
It doesn't look very big in the pic...but it's 22 X 16....works perfect for where I have it.

This is the bottom...the red is the original paint...I LOVE it....but with the 2 pieces of wood on it I'm not able to use it as the top....so I have to turn the Beautiful red over...UGH!!

Here's my version of the finished "Noodleboard".
The tiny pic frame I re-painted and added my "Family" permanent marker stitchery. The set of scoops I painted and aged. The candle paddle I wasn't able to get a before...but I jus' sanded it and rubbed some of my shoe polish on it...I made the UGLY Green candle into a Beautiful "Grubby" candle. The bowl is from a GW find awhile back. The bisque towel in the bowl I was able to get at an Auction.
I think everything turned out Great...it all works Perfect for us.

Mornin' Everyone!!!
I know I haven't posted in a few days. I have been a busy girl...workin' on lots of projects.

The main one I wanna show you is the table Hubby and I made.
I had a empty spot in my family room....needed to find something to fill it....so, hubby and I made this tall table to sit up against my wall.

If you look in the background of the first pic....you can see an old window hangin' on my wall. That is where it's new home will be.

Painted Black, sanded..rubbed down with shoe polish.
It kinda looks small in this pic...but really it's not.
It's 33 in high by 46 in long. Nice size table.

Now I jus' need to get things to fill the table...LOL
I have a few things on it now....hoping to get it all the way decorated today.
I'll post pic of it when I'm done.

Good Morning Everyone!!!
I have another busy, busy day today...but I wanted to get a post in before my day started.

Here's my burlap bag I've made. I have lots of them to make for prezzies this year. Making different styles and sayings too.
I really need to find some "Sweet Annie" to put in them. So, if you have a sellin' blog and have some Sweet Annie....Please leave me a comment with your addy....so I can check it out. I know it's sold on e-bay...but I'd rather buy from my one my Prim Friends.

I forgot to tell everyone....hubby and I made...the pegboard & candle ledge...the candle is a re-do from Mod Podge...and the basket was a GW find that I re-did.

Make over Monday...

Today is a very busy,busy day for me....but I wanted to post something really quick for everyone.

You will notice that I have the glass sundae cup in the first picture...it's the glass I used to make my sugar cone in my "Freebie Friday" post. (Don't forget to check it out)
Also, I'm sure you are saying....Darla, your nice wooden bowl doesn't look any different! Well, you are right...my son, (Ryan) asked I not "Prim" it...he wanted to use it jus' the way it was for our fruit. How can ya say no....LOL
But, I Love, Love the way my little stool and basket turned out.

Hmmm...I'm a bit late on this post...So Sorry!!

Anyway, I found a wonderful Free Primitive Grungy Americana Star. You can find the link to the PDF file in my sidebar under "Freebies".

Here's my supplies...

I used a sugar cone I had made last week...(instead of the vase she uses). I rusted some pins, bells and wire last week too...I was able to use each of them in this project. I also made the Star and tag...cut some of my homespun and made it grungy to match everything.

Here's the finished project...

I think it turned out Great!!!
If you are lookin' for a Simple project...this would be perfect for you to try.

Hello Everyone!!
I jus' wanted to stop in and show everyone what I made yesterday and was able to get finished today.

My Little Table Bench was made from a tutorial that I found on Char's blog. If you haven't checked her blog out....you should head right over there and see all the wonderful info she has. Def one of my favorite blogs to follow.
I made my Shutter and Star from ideas from different things around my house.

Hopefully this will give ya a few ideas on some easy simple things you can make yourself.

Trash 2 Treasure

Good Morning Everyone!!
Sorry I haven't posted in awhile. Sometimes everyday life jus' keeps ya busy.
Anyway, I've been workin' on lots of things....
My favorite thing is....my New Remade Table...
I have a trunk in my Family room that jus' wasn't tall enough to be a coffee table. I've been tryin' to figure out how to make it work...cuz, I really like the trunk. Well, I saw a really beat up coffee table in the trash across the street from us. Yep, you guessed it...I made hubby go get it for me!!
I didn't need the table to be too tall....in fact, it's only5 inches tall....but it gave me jus' enough height to my trunk that it now works much better.

Hello Everyone!

So today is my first official post to my blog. I really hope you enjoy following me through my Primitive Journey...I'm tryin' to get together a "Themed Blog". Bare with me while I work the kinks out. If there is anything special you'd like for me to blog about...or really any suggestion...Please, feel free to give me a shout. I'm really new to bloggin' and I could use all of the suggestions I can get.
Right now, I have so many different things I'm workin' on....I really need to finish one before I start another...(like that's gonna happen...LOL)
Anyway, I'm in the middle of changing around some of my "Goodies" in the house. Jus' kinda want to re-arrange things to have a new look without really buying new things. Plus, I'm workin' on some of my GW finds....love going to the GW and finding wonderful things to"Prim". Lastly, I've got several sewing projects going on....curtains, Raggie dollie...and a few Prim crafts. Oh...almost forgot...I'm also, rusting some bells, safety pins, and some wire hubby found for me. Now I jus' need him to find me some springs for my crafts.
Ok...so I think todays Theme is gonna be...."Before and After Monday". I'm hoping to finish up my GW finds and post the before and after pictures of them something later today.
